Oscar Delmas Brewer, known fondly to friends and family as Big O, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2023, at the age of 82 in Gulfport, MS surrounded by his family. He was born on November 17, 1941, in Poplarville, MS. Oscar loved to go to the mountains and staying at their cabin in Sylva, NC., watching FOX News, cheering for the Saints even when they lost, and driving the backroads of Poplarville where he lived as a boy. When he was no longer able to drive, he loved calling everyone and catching up with them on a daily basis. His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, he was loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure. As sad as we are that he is no longer with us we know his son John Wayne is smiling because he's finally reunited with his best friend, his daddy. There will be a celebration of life at a later date for family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Eunice Brewer; his brothers, Earl, Jessie, Julius and Clyde Brewer; his sisters, Margaret Tate Davis, Linda Gail Austin, Betty Lou Williams, Aline Smith and his son John Wayne Brewer. He is survived by his wife Carolyn Waltman Brewer; his children, Carol Brewer, Rocky Brewer (Kristan), his grandchildren, Aaron Lizana, Taylor Rogers (Aaron) and John Presley Brewer; his siblings, Elaine Odom, Bonnie Thompson; his Princess Bella and numerous nieces and nephews. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Brewer family in their time of need, and we ask that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers in days to come.
