Mr. Oris Allen Jones

Mr. Oris Allen Jones, 53 of Lucedale, MS, passed away Saturday, April 16th at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, AL. Allen was one who enjoyed life, especially enjoyed hunting and fishing, and spent a great deal of his free time either in the woods or on the water. He also enjoyed gardening, and made sure there was a garden for his wife Sherri. He has worked as a welder for over 30 years, with Ingalls and for the past 15 years, with VT Halter of Pascagoula. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Sherri Lee Jones; 2 brothers, Charles "Chuck" Jones (Laura) of Carnes, and James "Jimmy" Jones (Susan) of Vancleave; 2 sisters - Ramona Lynn Brown (Bubba) of Columbia, and Cynthia Elaine Traywick (Joey) of Meridian; His mother-in-law Barbara Crapps; 2 sisters-in-law, Kay (Perry) Baxter, and Pam Stokes; and a nephew, Bobby Eiland, whom he loved as a son, and a couple of very special friends, Danny and Anita Wright. They, along with all those who knew him, will surely miss his pranks and laughter. Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby Don Jones and Elaine Hamby Jones, and one brother, Robert Logan Jones. A celebration of Allen's life will be held on Saturday, April 23rd, from 1pm to 4pm, at Crossroads Church of the Nazarene, located at 6150 Firestone St, Ocean Springs, MS 39564. Trinity Funeral Services in McHenry was honored to serve the Jones family.
