Nunzio Pilato, 76 of D'iberville, passed away at his home Thursday morning. Nunzio was born October 14, 1942 in Salerno, Italy, and grew up in Southern Italy. He joined the Italian military at 16, serving honorably for 8 years. After his military service, a young lady named Martha Rodriguez caught his eye, and the two were later married. They lived in Spain for a while, and decided to go to Mexico where other family lived. They later immigrated to the United States, making their home in Los Angeles. Nunzio was a talented man who could build anything, and made his career in construction. He moved to D'iberville to be closer to his family in 2013, and had lived here since. He is remembered as a strong, determined Italian man that loved and provided for his family. He sacrificed so his children could have all they needed. He loved to play bingo, and inspired creativity his kids and grandkids. A loving father and grandfather, he will be sadly missed by all who's life he touched. Nunzio was preceded by his loving wife, Martha. Left to cherish his memories are his daughters: Linda Pilato (Larry Kennedy, Jr) of D'iberville, Ida (James) Del Duco of Long Beach, and Deborah Pilato of Los Angeles; 9 grandchildren, and extended family and friends around the world. His wishes were to be cremated, which his family is honoring. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Pilato family, and asks that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers through this difficult time.
