Nelda Rushing Huhn

Nelda Rushing Huhn, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, was born on December 21, 1945, in Tylertown, Mississippi. She departed this life peacefully and enjoyed her 80th birthday, December 21, 2025 in the arms of Jesus.

Nelda lived a life enriched with diverse passions and interests. She was particularly fond of traveling to the mountains, where she found solace amidst the beauty of nature. In her leisure time, she enjoyed watching old television shows and home video's that brought back cherished memories, as well as listening to southern gospel music, which resonated deeply with her spirit. Nelda was an active member of Oral Baptist Church in Sumrall, Mississippi, where her faith and love for community shone brightly.

She is survived by her loving children, Craig (Reshea) Huhn and Shawn (Ada May) Huhn, who carry forth her legacy with pride. Nelda was a proud grandmother to four grandchildren: Autumn Huhn, Ashton Huhn, Monica Huhn, and Barbie Oquias. Her heart was further filled with joy from her great-grandchildren, Anna Claire Huhn, Aspen Huhn, Atlas Huhn, and Eren Campbell, who were the light of her life.

In addition to her children and grandchildren, Nelda is survived by her living sibling, Oiuda Skinner, who holds dear the memories of their shared upbringing.  She is also survived by multiple nieces and nephews who cherished her dearly.  

Nelda joins her beloved husband, Everette Huhn, in eternity, as well as her parents, Johnny William and Gladys Loftin Rushing, and siblings: James Rushing, deceased Ollis Rushing, Shelby Rushing, Johnie Mae Langston, Inez McDaniel, and Viola McDaniel.

Her passing leaves a profound void among her family and friends, but her memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. A life well-lived, Nelda Rushing Huhn will be remembered for her unwavering spirit, her deep faith, and her cherished family connections.
