Nancy Catherine (Napier) Walker

October 26, 1933 — January 22, 2021

Saucier

Nancy Catherine Napier Walker, 87 of Saucier was welcomed into Heaven on January 22, 2021. She was born to Maxie and Evelyn Napier on October 26, 1933. She is preceded in death by her parents and her son, Danny Walker, Jr. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her beloved husband, Avery Walker, Sr.; her daughter, Cathy Walker; sons and daughters in laws, Dennis and Renea Walker, Daryl Walker, Kenneth Walker and La Juan Walker; grandchildren, John, Tommy, Joseph, Chad, Dakota, Dylan and Destry; great-grandchildren, Marissa, Matthew, Cohn, Violet, Jason, Elijah and Avery along with extended family and friends. Nancy met her soulmate in 1953 while he was working on the pipeline and she was a switchboard operator. It was a classic love story between a Mississippi man and a Kentucky woman. They wed in April of 1954 and together they made their way through life. During the early years, Nancy was a devoted stay at home mom. She instilled in her children the importance of having Jesus in their lives. She was a member of Faithview Baptist Church and loved serving the Lord. She always saw the best in people, no matter what, Nancy could find something good to say about anyone. Later when the children got up older, Nancy decided to pursue her passion, nursing. Those that witnessed her at work would agree it was her true calling. She used the gift that God gave her to help people, comfort them and ease their fears. Often you would find her on a stroll from “Walker Hill” to Hwy 49 with her best friend, Ruby MaGee, laughing, talking, and recalling the “good ole days”. After retirement, if she wasn’t spending time with her grandchildren, she loved visiting the “old place” in Kentucky. Nancy had a gentle soul, a kind manner and was a blessing to each that had the honor of knowing her. While her family will mourn her passing, they take comfort that the word of God still stands true: Earth has no sorrow that Heaven can not heal. A graveside service will be held at Rouse's Cemetery on Wednesday, January 27 at 1 pm. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to be entrusted with the care of Ms Nancy and asks that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
