Nancy Marie Landrum, 81 of Gulfport and native of Biloxi, passed away Tuesday at Memorial Hospital. She was the second of five children to Floyd and Alethia (Letort) Dobson, born July 21, 1940 in Biloxi. She grew up on Back Bay in the St. Martin community and was a strong-willed, determined young lady from the start. Nancy wasn't much for fishing, but she loved swimming, dancing, and arguing with her siblings. She attended St. Martin schools before going to work at Pass Christian Industries, where she stayed for over forty years and eventually retired as a supervisor. If the plant hadn't closed down, Nancy would have worked for many more years. She is lovingly remembered as a loving sister, wife, mother and grandmother who was docile for the most part, though she could be a bit "feisty" at times. Her daughters described her as "kind of like honey bees and hornets...you could get close at times, but at other times you couldn't get away fast enough!" But she was a great mother and "Nanny" that absolutely loved having her family around her, especially the grandchildren. She taught them many things along the way, including making candy around the holidays. An excellent seamstress, she enjoyed sewing and made most of the clothes her children wore growing up. Nancy was raised Catholic and a Christian by faith, later attending Gateway Methodist Church in Gulfport. She will be forever loved and missed by all whose life she touched. She was preceded by her parents, Floyd and Alethia Dobson, her sister Rose Breland, her loving husband, Wilford Landrum, and their infant son, Charles Landrum, Jr. Left to cherish her memories are: her children, daughters Celena (Andy) Ladner of Pass Christian and Karen (Glen) Gaughf of Maryville, TN, with one son, Ronnie "Bo" Bond of Biloxi; her sister Carol Cassidy, and brothers Jimmy (Edith) Dobson and David (Kathy) Dobson, all of Biloxi. She leaves a legacy of six grandchildren: Jason Morris, Derrick Braxton, Devon (Giovanni) Dezuani, Britney (Michael) Chopin, Amanda (Ray) Ladner, and Staeshia Bond (Ricky Schley), with four great-grands: Lexie H., Carsyn, Emery, Ava, Tannah, Keely, Lyndon, Lakylyn, Lexie L., and Logan, with many more extended family and friends through the years. Services are set for Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Trinity Funeral Services in McHenry. The family will recieve friends for visitation from 11:00 AM, with a chapel service beginning at 12:00 PM, with Father Michael Manascalco officiating. Afterward, Nancy will be laid to rest in the Beulah Church Cemetery beside her late husband. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Landrum family in their time of need, and asks everyone to keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this trying time.
