Myrtle Mae Whorton, 85, of Wiggins, passed away April 5, 2025. Born on September 17, 1939 in her beloved Wiggins to the late Robert and Frances Fairley. Her warmth and love for life were as evident as her passion for sewing, word searches, and puzzles. A true cat enthusiast, Myrtle's kindness and generous spirit were like sunbeams gracing all who knew her. Known for her culinary skills, Myrtle's fried potatoes, Chicken n' dumplins, and cornbread were the heart of many gatherings. She would joyfully call out, "Come get ya plate!" - an invitation that many could never resist. Her cooking was not just food; it was a symbol of her love and care. To many, Myrtle was a second mama, whose stubborn and hardheaded nature was part of her undeniable charm. She always claimed to be right, and her playful manner kept everyone engaged and alert. Myrtle Mae Whorton will be remembered with smiles and a fondness that echoes her own zest for life. Myrtle is preceded by her parents, Robert and Frances (Pearson) Fairley, and siblings, Bobbie Jean Butler and Margie Scarborough. Left to cherish her memories are three sons, Charles (Christine) Whorton, Curtis (Sabina) Whorton, Robert Joel Fairley. Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Trinity Funeral Services is honored the Whorton family and asks that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
