Monica Ann Landrum

September 24, 1978 — April 14, 2024

Lumberton

Monica Ann Landrum, 45, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 24, 1978, in Hattiesburg, MS. Monica's radiant spirit and nurturing presence touched the lives of many. Although born in Hattiesburg, Monica grew up in the nearby small town of Lumberton. Monica’s love for driving led her to work for Poplarville Schools as a Bus Driver for many years. Known as a Mother Hen; she cared deeply for her own children, naturally extending that same love to many others. A name she wore proudly was Monc-Monc, as the children she cared for called her that. She loved music, whether she was dancing to her favorite tunes or singing her heart out, she would never listen to a song all the way through because she needed to hear the next song on the playlist. A homebody at heart, she enjoyed playing board games and tending to her beloved rose bushes. She wasn’t afraid to get competitive in a game of her favorites, battleship or monopoly. It gave her time to spend with her family and enjoy the little moments. When she had time to sit back and relax you could catch her watching some of her soaps or the ever so popular law and order series. Her beautiful, outgoing soul and ability to love without boundaries will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. She is preceded by her parents, Shirley and David Rainey, Sr., Monty and Reba Saucier; brother, James Saucier; sister, Bridgett Rainey. Left to cherish her memories are her loving husband of twelve years, Stacy Landrum; children, Rylee (Tyler) LaFontaine, Shane (Helena) Necaise, Jr., Brentley Landrum; grandchildren, Gracelyn, Remington, and Everleigh Necaise, Tucker LaFontaine; siblings, Matt, Sam, and Angel Saucier, Mike, Marvin, and Marcus Brady, Davey Rainey, Brandie Johnson, and Renea Necaise; mother, Lynn Brady; mother-in-law, Gloria Landrum; along with thirty nieces and nephews. As purple was Monica's absolute favorite color the family asks that you wear purple to the funeral services. The family would like to thank Forrest General Hospice and The Asbury House for their compassion and care towards Monica and the family. A visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6PM-9PM at Olive Baptist Church in Lumberton with Services following on Thursday morning at 11AM. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Landrum family and asks that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers for the days ahead. In lieu of flowers consider making a donation to help the family offset cost of funeral expenses.
