Mitzi Ann Geerken passed away on September 17, 2024, in Natchez, MS, at the age of 63. Born on July 19, 1961, in Louisiana, she took the charm of her home state with her when she made Mississippi her home over four decades ago. She had a passion for the arts and her creative flair. She was an artist who found beauty in the simplicity of nature, often transforming driftwood into unique crafts. Her love of the outdoors was spent fishing, taking boat rides, and walking along the beach. Family was the cornerstone of Mitzi's world, and her happiest moments were spent around the dinner table with them. She loved cooking any and all meals for her family, especially her signature dish, Shrimp Mirliton. Each Christmas was a testament to her generosity, as Mitzi lovingly shared homemade fudge, divinity, and an abundance of other treats. Meanwhile, her zest for shopping was like no other; her legendary shopping excursions were adventures in their own right. She will be missed dearly by all who had the chance to know her. She is preceded by her parents, Steve and Edra Prestenbach; siblings, Tanya Prestenbach and Darlene Wilson. Left to cherish her memories are her boyfriend, Ricky Googins; two sons, Rodney (Jennie) McGoey and Shane McGoey, Sr; grandchildren, Rodney McGoey III, Mindy Smith, Shane McGoey, Jr, Keegan McGoey, Britlyn McGoey, Hailey Harris, Chelsie Trahan; nieces and nephews, Steven Ditta, Lacey (JT) Banks, Sierra (Jimmy Compton) Sizemore; great nieces Julianna Compton, Rynlee Banks, Maribella Compton.
