Milton Kelly Holland

April 14, 1952 — November 27, 2019

Saucier, MS

Milton Kelly Holland, 67 of Saucier, passed away at his home surrounded by his family Wednesday morning. He was born April 14, 1952 in Gulfport, one of nine children to Willie Louise (Johnson) and James Wesley Holland. He grew up in the Saucier area and developed a passion for hunting and fishing. Milton worked on shrimp boats as a young man, and learned how to operate heavy equipment, turning that into his career through life. Among his hobbies were NASCAR and the New Orleans Saints, along with shooting pool. Milton also enjoyed music, especially older country music. He learned to and loved to play the guitar and sing for his family and friends. He is remembered as a "goofy" man that loved to laugh and carry on, but he was also the type that spoke his mind. It didn't matter what you were talking about, you never had to wonder what his thoughts were, because he would tell you. But Milton was also a private man as well, one that took care of his own business so to speak. Milton married Elaine Hoda in October of 1986, and they made their home in the Saucier community. His children recall that he was "the best father and grandfather that he could be". He loved his kids, and even more so his grandkids. A wise and giving man, Milton will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all whose life he touched. He was preceded by his parents, J.W. & Louise Holland; his son, Milton Jr.; a brother, Stanley Leroy, and sisters Janice Allen and Martha McGee. Left to cherish his memories are: his loving wife of 33 years, Elaine; five daughters Kellie (Duke) Teurman, Melissa (Chad) Shavers, and Melanie Holland, all of Saucier, Kimberly (Terry) McIntyre of Pass Christian and Shannon Holland of FL; his brothers, Norman (Bobbie) Johnson and Phillip (Shelia) Holland, both of Gulfport, James (Ola) and Edward (Janet) Holland, both of Saucier, and Roger Holland of Laurel. He leaves a legacy of twenty (20) grandchildren, five great-grands, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Service times have been set for Saturday, November 30th. The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 10:00 AM, with a chapel service set for 12:00 PM. Interment will follow at the Dobson-Holliman Cemetery on O'Neal Road in Gulfport. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Holland family in their time of need, and asks everyone to keep them in your thoughts and prayers over the coming days.
