Michelle Beverly (Downing) Morris

Michelle Beverly (Downing) Morris, 48 of Moss Point, passed away July 30, 2022. She was born July 23,1974 in FL, the second of seven children to Butch and Diane (Couture) Johnson. Michelle grew up in Pascagoula, and was by all accounts a "tomboy". She was all about anything outdoors, and loved fishing and travelling. She attended Moss Point schools before deciding to get her GED. Michelle made her home in the Hurley community, doing some commercial painting early in her career. Once she married and started her family, she became a stay at home mom for her family and kids. She enjoyed writing, keeping a diary and journal quite often over the years. Michelle also loved the adult coloring books, with the more intricate and difficult images being her favorites. She is remembered as a very social person with many close friends. Michelle had her share of struggles through life, but her strength and perseverance always saw her through whatever came her way. She was the type who would literally drop everything to come help when you needed her. A loving sister, mother, and grandmother, she will definitely be missed by all whose life she touched. Michelle was preceded by her parents, Butch and Diane Johnson, her son Andrew Taylor Stutts, and a sister, Debbie Brooks. Left to cherish her memories are: her son, US Army SSGT Tyler (Emily) Stutts of Fort Bragg, NC, and her daughter Haley Morris of Moss Point; her sisters: Ann (John) White of the Helena community, Amy (Brian) Sketo of Richton, and Susan Pitts of Pascagoula, with two brothers, Jimmy (Jasmine) Pitts, also of Richton, and Kelly Johnson of Grand Bay, AL. Michelle leaves a legacy of two grandchildren, Andrew and Aria Stutts, along with numerous extended family and friends. Her final wishes were to be cremated, which her family is honoring. A celebration of her life is being planned, with details forthcoming.
