Michael Wayne Puckett, 56 of Tylertown, passed away Saturday afternoon, June 5, 2021 at St. Dominick Hospital in Jackson. Born September 14, 1964 in Gulfport, Wayne was one of ten children to Denford and Janet (Moore) Puckett. Growing up in and around Forest, MS, Wayne enjoyed tinkering with and working on things, mostly cars and such. He was always busy doing something, more of an "all work and no play" type of guy, all through his life. He attended Scott Central schools to the seventh grade, deciding that he would rather work. So, Wayne quit school and worked on chicken farms in the area. Later he learned the electrical trade from his brother, enjoying that enough to make electrical maintenance his life long career. When he was not working as an electrician, Wayne was working hard on his large vegetable garden, which he had every year. He thoroughly enjoyed it, always planting far more than enough and sharing among family, friends and neighbors. On hot summer days, you could usually find him cooling off in the creek with a "cold beverage" in hand, just enjoying a moment to relax. Wayne was a simple country guy that truly knew what work was all about. He was a loving brother, father, grandfather and trusted friend, who will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all whose life he touched. He was preceded by his parents, Denford and Janet Puckett and his brother, Scott. Left to cherish his memories are: his four children: Joshua (Stephanie) Puckett of Manchester, TN, Eliza Jane Puckett of Summitt, MS, with bonus children Pamela Jones of Birmingham, AL and Jasmine Lee of Carthage, MS; his sisters: Cindy (Cliff) Bethel of Labelle, FL, Lisa Bailey and Christy Archie, both of Lake, MS, Shannon Puckett of Newton and Tammy Hollingsworth of Magee, with brothers Randy (Donnie) Puckett of Duson, LA, Keith Puckett of Morton and Ray (Linda) Puckett of Forest. Wayne leaves a legacy of two grandchildren, Devin Judge and Jalynn Puckett, along with plenty of nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. His final wishes were to be cremated, which his family is honoring. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Puckett family in their time of need, asking everyone to please keep them in your thoughts and prayers over the coming days.
