Mr. Michael William Thigpen

May 28, 1971 — January 30, 2019

Mr. Michael William Thigpen, 47 of Perkinston, passed away at his home Wednesday morning, surrounded by his family. Michael was born May 28, 1971 in Gulfport, the son of Judy (Bill) Gannon Hosey, and the late Stanley Thigpen. He grew up in Biloxi, and as a young man, loved to hunt and fish. Michael attended D'iberville High School, and afterward worked in the casino industry for a while before moving to West Virginia, where he worked for a newspaper. He later returned to South MS and worked as an operator at DuPont. He was an active, outgoing person with a great sense of humor. Ever the jokester, Michael was determined to have the last word. He is remembered as a transparent guy that always told you what he thought. He was of the Catholic faith, and attended St. Francis Xavier in Wiggins. A loving, helpful brother, and a good son, he will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded by his father, Stanley Thigpen, his maternal grandfather Jimmy Gannon, and paternal grandparents Onyx & Eran Thigpen. Left to cherish his memories are: his loving wife, Tammy Siau-Thigpen; his parents, Bill & Judy (Gannon) Hosey; siblings: two sisters, Tina (Gary) Herbert and Dana (Steve) Nagel, and one brother, Matthew (Elizabeth) Hosey; grandmother Clarice Gannon; nieces & nephews: Angela and Rachel Hebert, Dillon and Kayla Nagel, and Evelyn and Cohen Hosey; his godmother, Linda (Doug) Denehie, and his uncle & godfather, Pat (Robin) Gannon, along with numerous extended family and friends from all over. Funeral services have been set for Saturday, February 2 at Trinity Funeral Services in McHenry. The family will receive friends for the visitation and rosary at 1:00 PM, followed by a chapel service at 2:00 PM. Interment will be at the Hosey Family Cemetery afterward. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to assist the Thigpen family in their time of need, and asks everyone to keep them in their thoughts and prayers in this difficult time.
