Michael Brett Stephenson

Michael Brett Stephenson, 64, passed away October 24th, 2022, at his home in Pass Christian. He was born April 25th, 1958 in North Carolina, the son of Albert Paul, Jr. and Lillian LaVerne (Henry) Stephenson. Growing up in Mableton, GA, Brett was the outdoors type and was pretty active in sports. He ran track, played baseball, and football as well. Since it was just him and his brother, they grew up close, always playing together, hunting, fishing, or just enjoying life. People say, "it's never work when you do what you love", and in Brett's case, that was most certainly true! Being a small engine mechanic, he loved working on lawn mowers, especially zero turns. Brett was also the type who never met a stranger; always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed it. But most of all, he loved spending time with his wife, whether it be a day at the casino or out fishing. He always joked that no matter how big of a fish he caught, Shamala always caught a bigger one. Brett was definitely a one-of-a-kind guy and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Shamala Stephenson; stepchildren: Shalayia (Aaron) Webb, Kenneth (Paige) Page, and Aaron Page; his grandbabies: Jaron Webb, Hartley Page, and Kensley Page; his brother, Gregg (Linda) Stephenson; one nephew, Brian (Vicky) Stephenson, and nieces Amy (Todd) Coffield and Ashley Stephenson; and his in-laws, Bobby and Dorothy Beech. Brett was preceded by his parents, Albert, Jr. and LaVerne Stephenson, with one grandbaby, Jaden Webb. Services are set for Friday, October 28, 2022 at Trinity Funeral Services in McHenry. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM, followed by a chapel service at 1:00 PM. Afterward, Brett will be laid to rest in the Rotten Bayou Cemetery.
