Mr. Michael Paul Shepherd

Michael Paul "Mike" Shepherd, 41 of Hattiesburg, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday March 21, 2018. Mike was born July 9, 1976, the oldest of 4 children to Rebecca Shepherd. He grew up in the Hattiesburg area, and was a true Southern boy. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and camping, and as the oldest, was the protector of his siblings and family. Mike grew to favor the music of the era, and remained a fan of classic rock, including bands such as AC/DC, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and others. He is remembered as a loving father, and a wonderful, caring, and protective son and older brother. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Mike was preceded by his father, Alton Speights, and his grandparents, Eddie & Faye Barber, and James SHepherd. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Dawn Shepherd of Shreveport, LA; his sons, Tyler Chamblis and Anthony Shepherd, both of Hattiesburg; his mother, Rebecca Crosby; his siblings, two sisters: Theresa (Thomas) Oswalt and Andrea (Haroland) Bramlett, and a brother, Joe Speights; and his grandmother, Teresa Shepherd, all of Hattiesburg, along with 7 cousins, and numerous friends. Trinity is assisting the family with arrangements, which are incomplete at this time. Please keep the Shepherd family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
