Mr. Michael Douglas Hester

September 4, 1967 — February 23, 2018

Michael D. "Mike" Hester, 50 of Saucier, passed away February 23, 2018, doing what he loved. Mike was born September 4, 1967 in Gulfport. He was an amazing, caring, and loving husband to his wife Michelle Hester for 29 years. He was a phenomenal dad to his sons Brandon, Jesse, and Michael Hester, and an even greater PawPaw to his four grandchildren: Brysen, Jazzmine, Jayme, and Mia. Mike was a great mentor and teacher to his children as well as a father figure to many others, and many more looked up to him as a role model. He was very much a family and friend orientated person. He loved to cook and boil crawfish for as many people as he could. Music was a great passion of his and he loved to sing and play music with his sons, as well as pick his guitar and sing for, and with his friends. Mike was a very strong-willed man who could accomplish anything he set his mind to. He had a love for the outdoors and greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing with his wife, grandchildren, and mother and father-in-law. Mike worked at Miller Pipeline as the BEST drill foreman in the South. His co-workers fondly referred to him as Papa Hester, and greatly enjoyed working with him and listening to him crack his jokes. Mike Hester was a unique man who leaves a great legacy that will be proudly carried on by his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed and forever loved by many, but he will never be forgotten. This is not good-bye, but I will see you later. Preceding him was his father, John Hanley Harmon. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Michelle; his three sons: Michael D. Hester, Jr, Brandon (Monica) Hester, and Jesse (Lachelle) Hester, all of Saucier; his mother and step-father, Nathan & Mary Katherine Steiner; siblings: Jimmy (Deborah) Hester of Gulfport, Peggy (Rick) Litsey of McHenry, Dones Leon (Vince) Guerrero of Guam, Antionette (Mark) Megofna and John Harmon, Jr., all of AZ, Dianna Harmon of NY, Stephanie (Carl) Bullard of Biloxi, Shauna and Janell Harmon, both of CA, and Josephine Harmon; four grandchildren whom he dearly loved: Brysen, Jayme, and Mia Hester, and Jazzmine Owens; along with countless nieces, nephews, friends, co-workers, and others who loved him. The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 27, 2018, followed by a chapel service set for 1:00 PM, all at Trinity Funeral Services in McHenry. Interment will follow at Poplar Head United Methodist Church cemetery in Saucier. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Hester family, and asks that you please keep the Hester family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
