Melissa Kay Harrison, 50 of Gulfport, passed away Sunday, November 19th, 2017, in Saucier, MS. Melissa was born June 13, 1967 in Gulfport, one of three children to William F. and Shirley Ann Harrison, Sr. She grew up in the Orange Grove area, and from an early age, enjoyed collecting things, such as Cabbage Patch dolls, stuffed animals, and most anything else, which she still has most of today. She graduated from Harrison Central High School, a member of the Class of 1984, and attended MGCCC. Melissa made a career as a security guard for SecureTech, and also at Boomtown Casino. She was an outgoing woman who loved life, and enjoyed roller skating, her animals, and going to the beach. Melissa was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan, and, an actual relative of the Cowboy's founder, Clint W. Murchison, Jr. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Melissa is survived by father, William F. Harrison, Sr., and her brother, William F. Harrison, Jr., both of Gulfport; her sister, Deborah Rominger of Varnado, LA; nephews Matthew L. (Ashley) Shea, and William F. "Buster" Harrison, III, both of Gulfport, and Robert (Danielle) Harrison of Varnado, LA; a niece, Julie (Dusty) Webb of Boone, NC; along with several other great nieces and nephews, and many friends. She was preceded by her mother, Shirley Ann Murchison Harrison; a brother-in-law, Calvin "Jerry" Rominger, Sr., a nephew, Calvin Rominger, Jr., and a great-nephew, Gage Harrison.
