Ms. Mavis Audelle Sullivan

January 15, 1942 — June 6, 2018

Mavis Audelle Sullivan, 76 of Wiggins, passed away early Wednesday morning at Azalea Gardens. She was born January 15, 1942, the oldest of three children to Allen & Grace Sullivan, and grew up in what most locals refer to as "Sullivan Hollow". The family moved to California in the mid 60s, and Mavis got married shortly thereafter and started her family. She worked as a telephone operator early on, and after returning to South MS in the early 80s, she went to work as an Admin. Secretary at Azalea Gardens, and remained there until she retired. She is remembered as a kind and loving woman, a devoted mother who cared for, and adored her kids and grandkids. She enjoyed crafts, especially painting, which she was quite accomplished at. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Mavis was preceded by her parents, Allen & Grace Sullivan. Left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Lisa (Obey) Parker of Perkinston, and Crystal Thornberry of Minford, OH; one sister, Jan Weigel of CA, and a brother, Joseph Sullivan of Wiggins; her 5 grandchildren, Ariel Roberson, Micah Bardwell, Alana Pierce, and Cord & Caden Thornberry; her beloved, four-pawed son, "Bo", along with 7 great-grands, and untold friends & neighbors. Mavis' wish was to be cremated, which her daughters are honoring. A memorial service has been set for 7:00 PM in the chapel at Trinity Funeral Services in McHenry, followed by a time of visitation and refreshments. Friends and neighbors are all encouraged to come remember Ms. Mavis. In lieu of flowers, the family says that Mavis would be honored if you made a donation to the Stone County SPCA, or your local SPCA, or other animal care center. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Sullivan family, and asks that you keep Lisa, Crystal, and all the family in your prayers during this difficult time.
