Maude Fern (Necaise) Garriga

Maude Fern Garriga, 84, of Pass Christian, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loved ones, on Saturday, April 15, 2023. She was the heart of the Garriga family. A woman of faith, she shaped their spirituality with her tireless Christian example. She is fondly remembered as a Christian, loving, friendly, and sociable lady whose door was always open. She had a kind heart and was always giving of herself to anyone in need. Fern was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family deeply and was a trusted friend to so many. It takes a minute to find a "special" person, an hour to appreciate them, and a day to love them, but it takes an entire lifetime to forget them. Momma, you will always be in our hearts. She was preceded by her parents, Daniel and Luevaley Necaise, her sister, Linda Archer, her loving husband, Ray Garriga, and her granddaughter Heidi Lynn Garriga. Left to cherish her memories are: her children, two sons, Mitchell (Peggy) Garriga and Robbie (Kathy) Garriga, and two daughters, Lisa Garriga (Rhonda Hamilton) and Liz Howard; and her two brothers, Garrie and Teddy Necaise. Fern leaves a legacy of four grandchildren: Michelle Bearden, Amber Wiese, Danielle Bordes, and Gabriel Garriga, with five great-grandchildren: Zachary, Hunter, Hannah, Chloe, and Carlie, along with numerous extended family, friends, and neighbors. The family would also like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Jennifer Dubuisson, Theresa Cuevas, and Katherine Miley, along with the staff of St. Joseph Hospice, for their loving care of their "Momma". Funeral services are set for Thursday, April 20th at Jacob's Well in Pass Christian. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Her son Mitch will officiate the services. Fern will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Cemetery at Rotten Bayou in Diamondhead. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Garriga family in their time of need and asks that you remember them in your thoughts and prayers through the days ahead.
