Matthew Steven Cuevas, 47, passed away October 05, 2022 at his home in Biloxi, MS. He was born on December 10, 1974 in New York, NY, the son of David Paul Cuevas and Diana Taylor. He grew up in Alexandria, VA and has been meeting and making friends since. Matt definitely had the "gift of gab" as they say, never ever meeting a stranger and easily making friends wherever he might have been. He attended school in Alexandria and worked a few odd jobs around the area before moving to South Mississippi to live with his grandmother. Matt was good with his hands and could do pretty much whatever he set his mind to. In his career, he has worked on small engines, done some landscaping, or whatever he needed to do to earn some money. He struggled with some medical issues later in life, dealing with them as best he could. Matt is fondly remembered as a free-spirited kind of guy. He had a huge, loving heart, and was the type who was definitely there if you needed him. He enjoyed hanging out with his friends and watching funny videos, which fit right in with his sense of humor. Matthew was also the one who always looked out for others too, doing whatever he could to help anyone he knew was in need, including animals. There was no way he could rescue them all, but that didn't stop him from trying! He was loved beyond measure and will be forever missed by all whose life he touched. Matt was preceded by his paternal grandparents, Julius "J.J." and Betty Cuevas. Left to cherish his memories are: his father, David Cuevas of Saucier, and his mother Diana Taylor of Las Vegas, NV; his siblings, one sister Michelle Cuevas, also of Saucier, with brothers Gary Cuevas and Brett Cuevas, both of VA, and Chris Scipione of Tampa, FL; his aunts and uncles: Marian (Curtis) Alexander, Raymond (Dina) Cuevas, Julie Steube, Kathy Martin, and Travis (Tammy) Cuevas, all of Saucier. Matt leaves his niece, Alana Cuevas, and nephews Aiden Cuevas and Dean Delano, along with numerous extended family members, and way more friends than you can count. His final wishes were to be cremated which his family is honoring, with a private family memorial to be held at a later date. Afterward, he will be interred in the family cemetery in Saucier. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Cuevas family in their time of need and asks that you remember them in your thoughts and prayers over the coming days.
