Mary Lucille (Martin) Breazeale

March 24, 1948 — July 20, 2024

Purvis

Mary Lucille Breazeale passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on July 20, 2024. Born in Lumberton, MS on March 24, 1948, to Ernest and Lillian Martin. Mary grew up in Purvis, a town close to her heart, where she married the love of her life, Sam Breazeale, in 1970. Together, they created a beautiful life in the house that had been Sam's childhood home, known to be their "Forever Vacation Haven." She enjoyed working in the garden, tending to an array of flowers and vegetables that sustained not only their family but their livestock as well. In the kitchen she would create magic, especially with her tomato gravy and biscuits, but no matter what she made, it was always perfection. She loved her grandchildren deeply and wore the name “Gran” proudly. Mary was unapologetically herself, a spitfire to say the least. Always straight to the point and saying what is on her mind; but that led to such a humor you couldn’t help but laugh at, even if it was at your own expense. This beautiful and feisty woman will be missed dearly but the family finds peace knowing she’s walking hand in hand with her beloved husband, even if its in mismatching shoes. Mary is preceded by her husband, Sam Breazeale; daughter, Mary Hennis Tech; parents, Hugh and Lillian Martin; four brothers and four sisters; one step grandson. Left to cherish her memories are her daughter and son in law, Charlotte and Kevin Buchanan; three grandchildren, Kirstin Tech, Katelyn (Cole) Netto, Starr Nichols; two step grandchildren, Hunter Buchanan and Mackenzie Buchanan; three great grandchildren, Khloe and Kynlee Netto, and Myles Jordan; along with numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.
