Mary Frances Fortner

Mary Frances Fortner, 91, passed away on October 06, 2023 at Pass Christian Health and Rehab. Mary was born on December 20, 1931 in Tennesse to parents Grady Thomas Creech and Ruth Augusta Mathis. Mary was the third of twelve children in the family. She was raised in Van Leer, Tennesse with the family later moving to Detroit and then back to Chatanooga, TN eventually making their way down to Pass Christian, MS. She was often dancing or cooking as young lady. She spent much time traveling or going camping with family. She had a great sense of humor and was known as sports fanatic. She was an avid Saints fan, and enjoyed watching football. Mary played golf as well, attending The Masters multiple times. She loved NASCAR, and collected memorabilia. She was well know for her master cooking, and she could make a mean pot of chicken and dumplings! Preceded in death by her parents Ruth Augusta Creech , Grady Creech; her sisters Jean, Catherine, Juanita; her brothers Jimmy, Gordon, Charles, Ward, Warren, Oneal, and Ernest. Mary is survived by her dog Gidget; Children Carol McIntosh of MS; Mark (Grandson) , Christopher (Grandson) , Paige (Great Granddaughter) , Sheron Weiss (Niece) of Wiggins, MS.
