Marilyn Blackwell

Marilyn Blackwell, 70, of Palestine, AK., passed away peacefully December 22, 2021, at Crest Park Nursing Facility in Forrest City, AR.  Four of five children, Marilyn was born February 21, 1951, to Woodrow and Helen Head in Poplarville, MS.  She grew up in the Lumberton area until moving to Palestine with her son, where she lived the last twenty years.  Marilyn was an awesome cook, who's gumbo will be greatly missed by many.  It wasn't uncommon to find Marilyn nose deep in a good book or tv show, as she loved to read and watch tv.  Preceding Ms. Marilyn in death are her loving parents Woodrow and Helen Head; her loving husband John Blackwell, a loving daughter, Marie; her brothers Wilmer and James "Hoodo" Head; her sisters Virginia Grey and Gussie Reid; and two great grandchildren who passed at a young age.  Marilyn is survived by her children Randy (Heather) Head of Palestine, AR; Ricky (Reisha) Head of Kiln, MS; and Hannah (Richard) Greenaway of Missouri who will all miss summers at the river with her. Marilyn leaves a legacy of fourteen grandchildren and thirty-one great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. A visitation will be held here at Trinity Funeral Services, McHenry, MS. for Ms. Marilyn, on Wednesday December 29, 2021, beginning at 10:00 am followed by the Service at Noon with interment to Finley Cemetery to follow. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Blackwell family during this time and would ask that you remember them all in your prayers in the days to come.
