Margie Nell (Head) Abercrombie

Margie Nell Abercrombie (Head), a cherished member of the Lumberton community, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2024, at the age of 77. Born on February 7, 1947, in the heart of Mississippi, Margie was a beacon of joy and kindness to all who knew her. Margie's greatest joy was found in the time spent with her beloved family. Her home was a place of warmth, where laughter filled the rooms, and memories were made around the kitchen table. Margie was the heart of her family, guiding them with love and a steadfast presence that will be deeply missed. An avid collector of moments rather than things, Margie's life was rich with experiences shared with those she held dear. She approached life with a gentle grace and a smile that could light up the darkest of rooms. As we bid farewell, we reflect on a life well-lived and well-loved. Her legacy of kindness, generosity, and unwavering family devotion will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her. Margie is preceded in death by her husband Wilmer Head; parents Jessie and Jame Prince; sister Pat (Buck) Lee, Mardell (Roy) Jones; sons James Head, Bobby Head, Dale Head and great grandson Dustin Walters. She is survived by her son Kenneth (Brenda) Head, granddaughter Dewanna (Sierra) Head, Crystal (Cagney) Head, and Cheyenne (Gabe) Head; Great grandkids Alexis Corley, Emma Corley, Evelyn Head; sister Marie Ladner; numerous nieces and nephews who love her dearly.
