Margaret Sue Phillips

Margaret Sue Phillips, 79, of Saucier, MS., passed away September 14, 2021, in Gulfport, MS. She was born the baby of four children to Lucian and Dolly (Perrin) Dean, on June 6, 1942, in Imboden, AR.  Margaret grew up in the Imboden area, and was raised on her small family farm. Her father worked for an auto plant, where she met her first husband, Harold Bowren, who picked her up after graduation and together, they moved to Waterford, MI, having two boys of there own. Margaret would remarry in the 70's to her late husband, Robert Phillips, and add another boy to the bunch.  She was a stay at home mom who loved raising her three boys!  Margaret would visit her son who was in the USAF in south Mississippi and realize how much she enjoyed the coastal area.  Moving her family to south MS where they would make their home Saucier, MS.  Margaret never met a stranger and had not one enemy, she was known as "Ma" to everyone she met! Never having learned to drive, every now and then Margaret would venture out for a night out on the town, where she loved to dance! Family and friends would gather together on many occasions and challenge Margaret to a good game of cards, which she always enjoyed. A Christian by faith, Margaret loved to join her friends for church. A kind and sweet spirit that will be missed immensely.  Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Phillips; her parents Lucian and Dolly (Perrin) Dean; and two sisters Dorothy Mahle and Wanda Harroun.  Left to cherish her memory are, her three boys Howard Bowren and Robert Phillips both of Saucier, MS and Harry (Cathy) Bowren of Picayune, MS; and one sister Ina Grace McGlocklin of Imboden, AR.  Margaret leaves behind a legacy of grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Margaret's wishes were to be cremated, which her family is honoring.  Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Phillips family during this difficult time and would ask that you remember them in your prayers in the days to come. .
