Ms. Mandie Inez (Rodgers) Lucas, 90 of the Shipman community of George county, passed away on Monday, August 29, 2016 in Wiggins. Ms. Mandie, or "Manman" as she was affectionately known, was born on January 26, 1926 in Pineapple, Alabama, to Lemmie and Emma Rodgers. She eventually made her home in the small community of Shipman in Eastern George county, where she lived for over 40 years. "Manman" was a very loving lady who enjoyed a good laugh as much as anyone. She loved children, and she loved going to church. She was a faithful member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Shipman, where she sang in the choir for many years, and made herself available for the various ministries of the church, such as the Ladies Home Missions group. She will be remembered as a quiet but very giving person, eager to help in any way she could. She is survived by her siblings, one sister, Katie Mae Dereks, and brothers Rayfield and David Rodgers, all of Mobile, AL; and numerous nieces and nephews, including her caregivers, Diane and Gralyn Johnson, Courtney Kennedy, Deborah Woullard, and Aryanna Gill, all of whom she loved dearly. Ms. Mandie was preceded in death by her husband, Hilton "Jack" Lucas, her parents, Lemmie and Emma Rodgers, and siblings, Sarah Moffett, Evergreen Rodgers, Jesse L. Rodgers, Joseph Rodgers, and Vera Rodgers. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to assist the family in their time of need.
