Ms. Lynda Gayle Simmons

July 27, 1957 — March 4, 2018

Linda Gayle Simmons, 60 of Pistol Ridge, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, March 4th. Linda was the middle child, born July 27, 1957 to Daff and Helen Seal in Arizona. The Family moved to Carnes when she was 3, where she grew up enjoying the country life, and singing with her sisters in local churches. She graduated from Forrest County Agriculture High School, obtained her CNA certificate, and worked at Adventist Health Center for a number of years. Linda always had a smile on her face, and loved to cook. She would burn you up with peppers, as she preferred spicy food. Linda, along with some friends, founded the Purvis Chapter of the Daughters of Confederacy, and spent a lot of time in that effort. She was a faithful member at North Spoon Baptist Church, where she was greatly loved. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Brenda Reid, and niece, Donna Daughdrill. Linda is survived by her son, Joseph Simmons; her sister, Tammy Rutledge; Aunt Willie Egner, Uncle Toppy Seal, and two nephews J.D. and Bo Reid of Carnes. Services will be Frida, March 9th at North Spoon Baptist Church Tabernacle. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 2:00. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Simmons family in their time of need.
