Lloyd C. Peebles, a steadfast beacon of warmth and generosity, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2025, in Gulfport, Mississippi, at the age of 74. A Louisiana native, born on November 11, 1950, Lloyd's life was a reflection of the rich Southern heritage he adored. A graduate of St. Martin High School, Lloyd furthered his education at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, earning an Associate's degree. He skillfully carved out a career as a plumber and electrician, taking pride in his work and standing firm as a union man. Lloyd's coworkers knew him as a man of integrity and good humor.
Lloyd's life was marked by a love for the simple pleasures—cooking, crabbing, and cherishing each moment with his family. He was often found by the water's edge at every opportunity, a testament to his passion for nature and his home state. A true homebody, he found the greatest joy in the comfort of his own home, surrounded by those he held dear. Described by those who knew him as loving, generous, and selfless, Lloyd's departure leaves a void in the hearts of many. His life's story is one of unwavering commitment to his family and friends, a tale told with kindness and laughter, now etched in memory. Lloyd C. Peebles will be deeply missed, yet his spirit will continue to inspire all who had the fortune to know him.
Preceded in death by his mother Katherine Louise Christy and his brother Glenn Peebles, Lloyd leaves a legacy of love and dedication. He is survived by his devoted wife of 32 years, Dawn Peebles, his caring sisters Barbara Young and Mary (Carroll) Higginbotham, his brother Richard Peebles, his proud son Carl (Kelly) Peebles, his loving daughters Danielle (Ricardo) Barber, Samantha (Thomas) Todd, and Brittany (Jeremy) Killingsworth. The joy of his life also included his cherished grandchildren, Emily (Hayden) Beard and Madeline Killingsworth, along with his great-grandchild, Mackenzie Beard; and last but not least Lloyd's faithful Dachshund, Ellie, also mourns his absence.
Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Peebles family in their time of need and we ask that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers through the days ahead.
