Lisa Dellieun Garrett, beloved wife, mother, daughter, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on July 25, 2026, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, at the age of 27. She was born on February 21, 1999, in Gulfport, Mississippi, to her parents, James and Alisha (Travis) Wright, and throughout her too-brief life, Lisa touched the hearts and lives of all who knew her.

A shining light among her family and friends, Lisa was cherished for her vibrant spirit, her steadfast devotion to her loved ones, and her unyielding faith. Deeply committed to Jesus Christ, she carried her faith in her heart and exemplified Christian kindness through her daily actions. Lisa was an overachiever from an early age—bright, ambitious, and smart as a whip. She was a straight A student, and in May, she achieved a major milestone by receiving her Masters Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, as well as recently passing her Board Certified Behavior Analyst exam, fulfilling an educational goal she had set for herself with characteristic determination.

Lisa’s nurturing heart knew no bounds. She was a devoted mother whose world revolved around her daughter Louise; everything she did was for her beloved child. Her love and care for children extended beyond her own family—she had an extraordinary gift with kids and always seemed to know how to offer both joy and comfort to those in her care. From her youth, Lisa was a mother hen to her siblings, showing natural warmth, wisdom, and responsibility.

Her marriage to William Garrett, Jr. reflected her deep sense of loyalty and partnership. Lisa stood fiercely by Will’s side, especially during times of illness, persevering through challenges with unwavering support and compassion. Balancing work, school, motherhood, and the care of her husband and home, Lisa’s strength and resilience were a testament to her character. Even when life presented unexpected difficulties, she rose to every occasion, ensuring her family felt loved, safe, and uplifted.

Family meant everything to Lisa. She delighted in shared meals with her family and made sure everyone felt included and valued. She brought laughter and fun to her family gatherings, never missing a chance to sing karaoke or create happy memories. A caretaker in every sense, Lisa’s presence made everyone around her better, and the example she set for her daughter Louise will continue to inspire all those who knew her.

Lisa is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Ike Stapleton; paternal great-grandmother, Dwan (Wright) McDill; and one brother-in-law, Zach Garrett.

Lisa’s spirit is carried on by her loving family, her husband, William Lee Garret, Jr. and their daughter, Louise Dellieun Garrett; her father, Jim Wright; her mother, Alisha Travis; paternal grandparents, Steve and Melissa Wright; maternal grandmother, Elizabeth "Dee" Stapleton; maternal grandfather, Allen Travis; four brothers, Brian Wright, Jimmy Shoemaker III, Blake Shoemaker, and Parker Wright; and one sister, Caylee Wright; her in-laws, Tammy Lee, and William and Aimee Lee Garrett, Sr.; and one brother- in- law, Austin Clark.

Lisa’s commitment to giving did not end with her passing, as she was an organ donor—a final act of selflessness that reflected her entire life’s ethos of caring for others.

Services to celebrate Lisa’s life will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, beginning with a Visitation at 4:00 pm, followed by a Funeral Service at 5:30 pm.  Lisa will be laid to rest directly following at McHenry Gardens Cemetery.  Family and friends are invited to come together to honor Lisa’s memory, pay their respects, and support one another in the love she so freely gave.  Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Garret family, and we ask that you remember Will, Louise, and the rest of their family in your thoughts and prayers over the coming days ahead.
