Linda Joyce Saucier

February 8, 1955 — January 18, 2022

Lizana, MS

Linda Joyce Saucier, 66, passed away January 18, 2022 at her home in Gulfport, surrounded by her loving family. She was  born February 08, 1955 in Biloxi, the sixth of nine children to George and Estelle (Lewis) Breland. She grew up on the Coast, mostly in the Pass Christian - Long Beach area, where she loved to draw. Pictures, wildlife or whatever she wanted, Linda could draw it. Her and her siblings were always playing and were usually self-entertaining for the most part. She attended Pass Christian schools and obtained her GED.  Linda married Mike Saucier in February of 1972 and made their home in the Lizana community, where they have lived since. Over the years, Linda raised two children of her own, along with plenty of nieces, nephews, and anyone else that needed raising. There was always something to eat in her home, and you would make her mad if you tried to refuse to eat something. Linda drove a bus for Harrison County schools and worked in the cafeteria for many years. In addition to that, she was a housewife and momma. She often bragged that she was a “retired homemaker”, but Linda ran the home, taking care of everything while Mike as a welder and fitter. Linda had a hobby of making cakes and over the years, she got pretty good at it. Birthday cakes, wedding cakes and so many more, Linda was making them long before the “cake boss”, and they looked as good or better! On top of all that, Linda loved to grow her own garden and can the vegetables. She is remembered as a loving family woman with a bit of a sassy streak to her. Linda was a giving person who never met a stranger, and was always eager to offer anyone a meal and place to lay their head. In what little spare time she had, Linda enjoyed bowling and grabbing a bite from Taco Sombrero. A wonderful sister, devoted wife, and the best mother and grandmother ever, Linda will be forever missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Estelle (Lewis) Breland; and her sister Louise Bond. Left to cherish her memories are: her loving husband of almost 50 years, Mike Saucier; their children,  Mikie (Crystal)  Saucier of Dayton, TX, and daughter Samantha Ladnier (Wesley Dunaway) of Lizana; her siblings, Kay Caley, Chester and Doris Breland, all of Pass Christian, Rose Cuevas and Betty Beard, both of Long Beach, Lois (Larry) Cochran of Saucier, and Judy (Mitch) Sichitano of Biloxi, with her life-long best friend Donna May Cuevas of Pass Christian. Linda leaves a legacy of six grandchildren: Kayla (Rebecca) Davis, Aaron Ladnier, Donaven Saucier, Dylan Ladnier, Austin Carothers, and Christian Holt, with ten great-grands: Liliann, Gracie, Miakoda, Winona, Cloey, Deno, Juan, Ashley, Leslie, Dalton and Roxie, along with numerous extended family, friends and neighbors through the years. Linda’s final wishes were to be cremated, which her family is honoring. The family will hold a Celebration of her Life Saturday January 22, 2022 at 12:00pm at 15052 Robbie Ln Gulfport, MS 39503.
