Leslie Thomas Levins, Sr.

September 1, 1935 — October 9, 2025

He has put a new song in my mouth--Praise to our God; Many will see it and fear, And will trust in the LORD.”

NKJV Psalm 40:3

PAPA

You were always smiling, quietly bright, a steady heart, a gentle light. You cared for us in every way, in words unspoken, day by day.

Your jokes and quips could lift the air, a spark of joy, a love laid bare. You didn’t need to say too much, your kindness spoke in every touch.

You taught us how to laugh, to give, to love this life, to truly live. And though you’ve gone where peace is found, your love still lingers all around.

We thank you, Papa, for all you’ve done, for every memory, every fun. You showed us love that never ends, a quiet hero, our dearest friend.

We’ll see you again, when our time has come, in heaven’s light, where you’ve gone home. Until that day, we’ll hold you near, in every smile, in every tear.

Leslie T. Levins, Sr., age 90, of Woolmarket, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at his home on October 9, 2025. Leslie was born on September 1, 1935, in Biloxi, MS, to his parents, Arthur and Hilda (Parrish) Levins.

Leslie was a lifelong resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, where he and Pauline proudly raised their family. He was a skilled pipe fitter by trade and proudly served in the U.S. Navy Reserves, retiring after twenty years of service. Leslie was a devoted member of Heritage Baptist Church in Woolmarket.

A gentle, kind, and compassionate man, Leslie was a hard worker and a dedicated provider for his family. Family was everything to him. He and his beloved wife raised four children during a simpler time, with Leslie working to support the family while his beautiful wife lovingly cared for their home and children.

As the years passed, Leslie found great joy in the growing family he had built. Surrounded by 19 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he cherished each of them deeply and took pride in knowing how they were doing every day. His love for his family, his unwavering faith in God, and his kind and gentle heart are the legacy he leaves behind. Leslie is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Hilda Levins.

Leslie is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Pauline Frances (Ladnier) Levins, of Woolmarket; three sons, Leslie Levins Jr. and wife, Cynthia, of Gulfport; Hank Levins and wife, Karen, of Saucier; and Mark Levins and wife, Andrea, also of Saucier; one daughter, Melissa Black and husband, Sheldon, of Gulfport; he was a cherished grandfather to eleven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Leslie's Life will be held at Woolmarket Baptist Church on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, beginning at 10:00 a.m. for Visitation, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Levins family, and we ask that you remember his wife, Pauline, and their family in your thoughts and prayers over the days ahead.
