Leslie Cornell Kennard

It is with deep respect and heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Leslie Cornell Kennard, who was born on March 24, 1955, in Wiggins, Mississippi, and departed this life peacefully on April 20, 2026, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Leslie was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, whose presence enriched the lives of many.

Leslie’s life was marked by kindness, devotion to family, and a quiet strength that touched all who knew him. Throughout his years, he was cherished for his compassionate nature and unwavering support of those he loved. His journey began in the close-knit community of Wiggins and concluded in Hattiesburg, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Patsy Kennard, who stood faithfully by his side; his children, Harold Street III and Jill (Michael) Walters, who were a source of pride and joy; and his brother, Bro. James (Gail) Kennard, who shared in the bonds of brotherhood and family life. Leslie’s loving legacy continues through his grandchildren—Savannah Street, Madison Street, Presley Street, Ryan Street, Adam Lee Street, Hannah Youngblood, and Nathan Walters—and his ten great-grandchildren, whose lives were brightened by his gentle spirit. He is also remembered fondly by numerous nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of family and friends who were impacted by his warmth and generosity.

The family grieves the loss of several dear members who preceded Leslie in death: his parents, Ebb and Maudie Kennard; his son, Adam Street; his siblings, Laura Isadora King and Charles Edward Kennard; his grandchild, John Robert Street; and his nephew, Ricky King. Their memories forever remain in the hearts of those who loved them.

A visitation will be held in his honor on April 24, 2026, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Little Creek Baptist Church, located at 2689 Wire Road East, Perkinston, Mississippi 39573. Following the visitation, a funeral service will commence at 2:30 p.m. at the same location, where family and friends will gather to celebrate Leslie’s life and the impact he had on so many. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m., providing a solemn moment to bid farewell and pay final respects.
