Lenore Gladys Follis, 90, of Kerrville, TX, passed away on September 27, 2025, in Gulfport, MS, where she lived for six years with her son Vern. Lenore was born on February 28, 1935, in TX, one of six children to Arlo and Madelyn (O'Rear) Koym. She grew up in Lake Jackson, TX, and attended schools there. Lenore graduated from Lake Jackson High School with the Class of 1953 and married Roy Follis later that year. The young couple moved around a bit while Roy served in the US Army. Following his discharge, they made their home in La Porte, TX, where they lived for many years. They owned Mr. Hamburger for a good portion of their time in La Porte, and Lenore worked alongside her husband. They faithfully attended church, and Roy answered a call to the ministry in the mid-60s. From there, he attended bible college and seminary in Colorado Springs, and they entered into the counseling ministry, working for many years for the Teen Challenge program. Roy and Lenore worked and eventually served as the State directors of the Teen Challenge program in Texas, serving both men and women in that effort. Lenore is remembered as a lady who definitely loved the Lord. She loved her family for sure, but going to church and serving the Lord defined all she did. Her heart was that of a servant, and she lived it every day of her life. Lenore was always serving the needs of others and will be dearly missed by her loving family and the untold numbers of those whose lives she touched. The family would like to thank Greg Sullivan and his staff at Connected Hearts personal care home in Gulfport for the exceptional care rendered to Lenore over the last four years. Lenore is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Follis; her parents, Arlo and Madelyn Koym; one son, Roy D. "R.D." Follis; three sisters, Virginia Taylor, Elsie Beesley, and Sally Womack; and two brothers, Vernon Koym and Kayo Koym. Left to cherish Lenore's memory are her children, Vern (Lynn) Follis of Gulfport, MS, and Richard (Sanya) Follis of Fairfield, TX. Lenore left a legacy of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, whom she was so proud of; as well as numerous extended family and friends. Her final wishes were to be cremated, which her family is honoring, with a Celebration of Life to be held at Covenant of Peace Church in Gulfport, with time and date to follow soon. Afterward, both she and Roy will be scattered together in one of their favorite places, Kerrville, TX. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Follis family in their time of need and we ask that you remember them in your thoughts and prayers over the days ahead.
