Larry James Redeemer, 67, of Wiggins, MS., passed away on November 7, 2025, at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport, MS. Larry was born on August 26, 1958, in Natchez, MS, to his parents, Alonzo and Irene (Williams) Redeemer, Sr. Larry would obtain his GED and join the United States Army at the young age of eighteen, where he proudly served his county for four years. Larry enjoyed life, spending the days doing what made him and those around him the happiest. He was a hard worker who spent nearly twenty years serving the City of Wiggins through different departments and roles during that time. Larry was also a friendly face on the school bus, which he drove for Stone County Schools for several years. Outside of work, Larry was a musician who loved pickin his guitar and singing. He would host live performances at local juke houses and community events, where his performances and his famous birthday song touched everyone. Larry was the life of every party and so easy to love! He was funny, he was kind, he was good, he was trusting, and most of all, he was loved. All of Wiggins knew Larry, aka Hoopa, Screamin Demon, Lab, and Ole Uncle Larry, and he will truly be missed by every soul he touched. Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Alonzo and Irene Redeemer; four brothers, John Williams, Alonzo Redeemer, Jr., Aaron L. Redeemer, and Kenneth Ray Redeemer; one niece, Tokola (Coosy) Hall; and two nephews, Marq Redeemer and Tyrel McDonald. He is survived by three sisters, Brenda Redeemer, Sandra Hall, and Delorice Redeemer, all of Wiggins; two brothers, George Redeemer of Fort Worth, TX., and Maurice Redeemer of Wiggins; seven nieces, Nikki (Rishawn), Tammy (M.R. and Shakeya (Jaz)), Shuwanda (Lil Greg and Bria), Tina (Treat and Traci), Tonya (Gabriel), Rashonda (Shanique and Shomari), and Gianna; five nephews, Keith (Dalvin and Kyra), Kamal, Shon, Lil George, and Kent Man; a lifelong friend, Woodrow Berry; and a niece-in-law and devoted care giver, Frances D. Jones (Dalvin and Kyra). Larry leaves a legacy of numerous extended family and friends whom he loved so much. Services for Larry will be held Thursday, November 13, 2025, beginning at New Welcome Hill Baptist Church in Wiggins, beginning with a Visitation at 10:00 am, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 am. Larry will be interred directly after at Shadeville Park Memorial Cemetery in Wiggins.
