Larry Allen Dedeaux

April 16, 1955 — January 26, 2021

Silver Run, MS

Larry Allen Dedeaux, 65 of the Silver Run community, was doing what he loved to do when an accident took his life Tuesday evening, January 26th in Little Rock Arkansas. He was born April 16, 1955 in Biloxi, the oldest of six children to Heyward "Redboy" and Betty Nell (Warden) Dedeaux. Larry grew up in the Silver Run community where he loved the outdoors. Hunting, fishing, farming and gardening occupied most of his time as a young man, along with bossing his younger siblings around whenever he could. He participated in the 4-H club while in school at Stone High. After his academic pursuits ended, Larry went to work planting trees for Buford Smith where his father worked. Later he worked as a shipfitter for Avondale in Westwego, LA, which is where he met Teresa. They married in 1976 and stayed in Westwego for a while, eventually moving back to Silver Run where Larry found his true calling in life, driving. He started driving locally and worked for Mr. Dinky at Evans Trucking for a few years. Larry moved to Blackledge Emulsions for a while, but later returned to work for Steven Evans as the 2nd OTR driver for Big Level Trucking. Larry has spent the better part of the last 40 years driving, which is what he loved to do. He is lovingly remembered as a hard-headed and set in his ways, but a very hard-working man to boot. He was by all accounts, a "gentle giant", with a heart bigger than he was. His loving wife says he was the "best man in the world" and a pretty darn good cook. Larry still hunted and fished in his spare time and taugh his daughter how to "mechanic" on vehicles. Larry loved his family, even taking them with him over the road at times. From the country life himself, Larry had a small farm with a garden each year and a few sheep that he enjoyed raising and shearing. He will no doubt be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all whose life he touched. Larry was preceded by his parents, Redboy and Betty Nell Dedeaux, and his youngest sister, Karen Dedeaux. Left to cherish his memories are: his loving wife of over 40 years, Teresa and their only daughter Sherry, and his only granddaughter, Loralie, all of Silver Run;  his siblings, Stevie (Melanie) Dedeaux of the Vidalia community, Donna (Ken) Powe of Picayune, Robert (Angie) Dedeaux of Silver Run and Douglas (Kamika) Dedeaux of Steep Hollow, with untold numbers of extended family, friends and fellow drivers. The family has set funeral services for Tuesday, February 2nd at Trinity's McHenry location. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM, followed by a chapel service at 1:00 PM. Afterward he will be interred in the family cemetery off Ridge Road. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Dedeaux family in their time of need, asking everyone to keep the entire family in your thoughts and prayers during this trying time.
