Ms. Laquer Quantella Powe

Laquer Quantella "Qua" Powe, 41 of Wiggins, passed from this life Friday evening, August 10, 2018. Qua was born in Hattiesburg, the daughter of Cynthia Powe and Shelby Leon Jordan. She grew up in Wiggins, and was an outgoing, jovial young lady with a tremendous sense of humor. A graduate of the Stone High Class of 1995, she remained in her home town of Wiggins, and made a career as a driver for a local transport service. She was a Christian woman and member at New Welcome Hill, where she loved to sing. She participated in the Youth Choir, and later the Gospel Chorus. Her friends and family remember her with laughter, stating she was a great comedienne, one who could make your face hurt from laughing. A caring, loving daughter who was always there for her mother, Qua was a fantastic mother herself. She will be fondly remembered, and sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Qua was preceded by her grandparents, Ulyess Powe, David Moore, and Doretha Norman; great-grandparents Fleet & Carrie McKinney; and an uncle, J.D. "Terry" Norman. Left to cherish her memories are her loving mother, Cynthia Powe; her only son. George T. Moore, Jr.; a goddaughter, Chanity Gilner; her sisters, Dawana Haley (George) Wells of Wiggins, Ashleigh Jordan of IA, and a godsister, Paris Jackson of Wiggins; maternal grandparents, Robert & Gussie Fairley of Wiggins, along with several nieces, nephews, and countless friends. Services will be held Thursday, August 16th at New Welcome Hill Baptist Church. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00. Interment will follow at the NWHBC Cemetery. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Powe family, and asks that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
