Kyle Andrew Lewis, 65 and originally from Lumberton, passed away Sunday evening in Gulfport. Born May 24, 1955 in New Orleans, Kyle was the oldest of four children to John Elbert and Sybil Zelene (Phillips) Lewis. He grew up in Lumberton where he came to love the outdoors. A gentle, loving person, Kyle found a gifted talent drawing and painting. He spent several years at Ellisville State School and studied horticulture at Jones Junior College. Kyle could also play the harmonica, often playing for the congregation at Olive Baptist Church. Among his favorites were The Old Rigged Cross and How Great Thou Art. His artwork was also known around the Mississippi, with one piece hanging in the Governor's Mansion, another in the mayor's office in Bay St. Louis, with still others touring around the South. Kyle is fondly remembered as a tender soul that loved birds and was a member of the Audubon Society. He will live forever in the hearts and minds of those who knew and loved him. Kyle was preceded by his parents, John & Sybil Lewis. Left to cherish his memories are his siblings: sisters Lela Ferguson of Hattiesburg and Kathleen (Vaughn) Mosteller of Lumberton, with his brother John Lewis of Seattle, WA. He leaves many friends and acquaintances over the years, along with numerous drawings and paintings cherished by many. Kyle's wishes were to be cremated, which his family is following and a memorial service may be held at a later date. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Lewis family in their time of need, asking everyone to keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this time.
