Kenneth Wayne Shoemaker, affectionately known as Kenny, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2023, at the age of 70. Born on July 24, 1953, in Mississippi, to the late William W. and Ida C. Shoemaker. Kenny's work ethic was unparalleled. He worked as a Maintenance Supervisor for an apartment complex, a role he took great pride in. His dedication and passion for his work led him to become self-employed, working on HVAC systems before retiring. His commitment to his job was evident in the quality of his work. Raised in the Woolmarket area, he was a proud graduate of Harrison Central High School. Kenny was a man's man, with a love for baseball, football, fishing, hunting, and NASCAR. His passion for NASCAR and his New Orleans Saints were infectious, he could often be found cheering on his favorite drivers and players with unmatched enthusiasm. He was also a skilled cook, preparing meals with the catch of the day from his hunting and fishing adventures. His squirrel dishes were unforgettable. Kenny was a spirited individual, always ready for an adventure. He loved camping with his daughters, creating memories around the campfire that will be cherished forever. His bond with his late brother, Wendell, was a testament to his loving nature. The two were inseparable, just two stubborn men enjoying life together, their shared laughter a constant source of joy. Music was a big part of Kenny's life. He had a soft spot for classic rock and was known to break into dance whenever the mood struck him. His impromptu living room dance sessions with his daughters were a source of endless amusement and love. He had a knack for making even the simplest moments special. Left to cherish his memories is his companion of 20 years, Karen Newsome; three daughters, Ryan, ReRe, and Cheyenne Shoemaker; grandchildren, Jonathan Shoemaker, Hannah Shoemaker, Brandon Glass Jr, Dylan Glass, and Ashton Glass; siblings, James "Pete" Shoemaker, Dorothy Fayard, Shirley Barnes, Carol Dew, Patricia Parker, and Jenny Lockridge; and a host of nieces and nephews. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, William W. and Ida C. Shoemaker; four siblings, Wendell Doyle Shoemaker, William Donald Shoemaker, Irma Jean Thompson, and Anna Lee Shoemaker.
