Kenneth Lane "P-Nut" Young

November 9, 1965 — December 1, 2021

Saucier

Kenneth Lane Young, 56, of Gulfport, MS, passed away December 01, 2021 at his residence. Kenneth was born on November 09, 1965 in Gulfport, one of three children to Larry Keith, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth (Varnado) Young. Growing up in Saucier, Kenneth and his siblings were always a close-knit group that spent lots of time with their grandparents, L.C. & Edna "Granny" Varnado. Losing his brother "Pee Wee" and sister Tonya far too early in life really took a toll on Kenneth, but his family has the peace of knowing they are reunited, rejoicing in the presence of the Lord today. He came to be known as "P-Nut" by those who knew him best. In his younger years, most days consisted of baseball games, hunting, fishing and spending summers with family and friends. The later years were filled with gardens and simple days around home, cherishing the friendships that still remained and a beautiful bunch of grandchildren that he loved very much. Most would readily say that P-Nut was just a "good ole country boy", the kind that would do anything for anyone, which included giving you the shirt off his back, if that was what you needed. He always had a helping hand to offer and truly enjoyed raising his pigs and goats. P-Nut didn't really care for much for pants and shoes. No, for him, comfortable was just shorts and a t'shirt! He continued to fish and hunt, but mostly just enjoyed just being in the woods where he could find some peace and quiet. P-Nut was "old school"; the tuff guy in the construction world, where he began right out of high school, making an honest living for his family. Though he may not have looked it, P-Nut was just a BIG ole teddy bear to his loving momma Liz and his soul mate Amanda. Their hearts will forever ache for his big hugs! A family man through and through, his loyalty to his loved ones always went beyond measure. He firmly believed in the family values and traditions passed down by his parents and grandparents. P-Nut's heart of gold will forever be missed by all those who loved and cared for him. He was preceded by his father, Larry Keith Young, Sr.; his grandson Christopher Young; his brother Larry "Pee Wee" Young and sister, Tanya Johnson, and his grandparents, L.C and Etta Varnado. Left to remember his love are: his loving mother, Mary "Liz" (Russell) Moran of Lizana; bonus father Edward "Butch" Crawford; the love of his life, Amanda Huska of Saucier; his children: sons Sebastian Walton and Zebuland Young both of Pass Christian, Malikye Young of Franklin, Georgia, Daniel Huska of D'Iberville, Kourtney Young of Gulfport, Abigail Huska of Saucier and his "P-pot", Samantha Huska of Wiggins; life-sisters Monica Robinson and Vanessa Gigilo and brother, Rusty Moran; his aunt "Kay" and special aunts, Gladys Lee and Ethel Ladner. P-Nut leaves a legacy of multiple grandchidren, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and so many friends, including his furry best friend, "Bit Bit". Services are set for Monday, November 6 at Trinity Funeral Services in McHenry. Visitation begins at 10:30 AM, followed by a chapel service beginning at noon. Afterward, P-Nut will be laid to rest in the Dye Family Cemetery. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Young family during this difficult time, asking everyone to remember his mother Marry, his love Amanda and the rest of the family in your thoughts and prayers in the days to come.
