Kelli Lee Smith

Kelli Lee Smith, 57, of Lizana, MS passed away on May 9, 2025. Kelli was born on August 12, 1967 to Wayne "Bull" Cuevas and Sharen (Poolson) Ladner in Gulfport Ms. Kelli was an outstanding horse trainer in the true nature of the world and established herself as a trainer alongside her husband. Together, they trained numerous champion quarter horses; competing and winning in some of the highest stakes races in the Louisiana Quarter Horse Racing Association. Her legacy is one of unyielding love and generosity. Even with little to spare, Kelli continued to give and help others. She never faltered in caring for her loved ones more than she did herself. Kelli was preceded in death by her father, Wayne "Bull" Cuevas and her In-Laws, Alvin and Kathy Smith. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Alvin Smith Jr.; her mother Sharen Ladner (Bill); her children, Ashlee Necaise (Donathan), Kasey Smith (Rachel), and Beau Smith; her grandchildren, Wyatt Necaise (Gracey Ann), Kylee Necaise, McKinlee Smith, Graysee Necaise, Ayden Smith, and Addyson Smith; her great grandchildren, Josie Ann and Silas Necaise; her sisters, Tammie Cuevas and Angel Ladner; brother, Cain Ladner; her brothers and sisters in laws, Kathy Miller (Bryan), Sissy Young (Perry), Louis Smith (Chasity); her nieces/nephews, Ryan Young, Brock Young, Rio Cavalier, Shala Ladner, Danielle Cross, Whitney Ladner, Shane Ladner, Mary Katherine Gieseman, Bailey Baldillez, Dylan Smith. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday May 13, 2025 at Trinity Funeral Services in McHenry, MS. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am with services starting at 1:00 pm followed by burial at Brandon Ladner Cemetery on Northrup Cuevas Road.
