Kari Lynn Gardner, 50 and originally from Terre Haute, IN, passed away at her home in Perkinston on November 03, 2026. She was born November 23, 1975 in Terre Haute, the only child to parents Alva Lynn and Selestia (Moody) Light. Kari grew up and attend school in Terre Haute where she enjoyed the paranormal stuff. Anything dealing with ghosts and haunted adventures was right up her alley. Some might find that odd, but it was Kari's thing and she loved it. She met Will at 'Crusing the Bash' in the late 90's, an annual event on Wabash Ave. there in Terre Haute. They began a friendship that was off and on for a bit, but they reconnected and decided to get married in 2003. They made their home in Terre Haute for several years, until the much warmer climate of South MS came calling. They moved down in 2023 and have called it home since. Kari enjoyed the beach, watching the waves and sunsets across the water, She was a selfless lady who liked making things for others, such as homemade air fresheners, floral decorations, craft items, and much more. She dealt with her share of medical problems, but did her best not to let that slow her down at all. When she wasn't making or working on something for others, Kari enjoyed relaxing with her music. Among her favorite artists were Dolly Parton and Shine Down, and she loved listening to them. She will be forever remembered as a loving soul-mate to Will, who loved and motivated him if he was having a bad day. She possessed the biggest heart, and while you could get on her wrong side, you wouldn't be there long. Kari could be annoying, but even that was in a good way. A loving daughter, wife, and mother, she will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all whose life she touched. Kari was preceded by her father, Alva "Elvis" Light, along with several extended family members. Left to cherish her memories are: her loving husband, Will; her two children: daughter Karissa (Alec) Baumgartner, and her son Dakota Hatton, and her mother Selestia Light, all of Terre Haute. She leaves many friends made through the years, with her best friend Melynda McKinney of Gulfport, MS, all of who will miss her dearly. Kari's final wishes were to be cremated, which her family is honoring. Afterward, she will be returned home to Terre Haute, where a Celebration of Life will be held, likely in early December. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Gardner family in their time of need and asks that you remember them in your thoughts and prayers through the days ahead.
