Mrs. Karen Lynn Dronet

October 16, 1949 — May 5, 2018

Karen Lynn Dronet, 68 of D'iberville, passed away at her home early Saturday morning. Karen was born October 16, 1949 in Lincoln, NE, the 2nd of 4 children to Franklyn & Lucille (Lou) Railsback. As part of a USAF family, she would grow up in various cities in the US, and a couple in Europe as well. As a young lady, Karen loved to cook, and enjoyed travelling and visiting new places. As she did, she began collecting rocks from various places she had been, and her father would add to them as he served in the military. As you might imagine, Karen had quite a collection of rocks from places all over the world. She loved her country, and after graduating high school, she joined the US Army as a cook. She served honorably in the late 60s, attaining the rank of SP4, and made cooking her career afterward. She enjoyed arts and crafts, painting and drawing, and absolutely loved to search for "treasures" at the Goodwill store. She is remembered as a loving mother with a great sense of humor, and a bit of a silly streak as well. One of her favorite lines when asked where she was going was, "I'm going crazy. Are you coming with me?" Karen was always there for her children, teaching them first hand how to be caring, thoughtful parents. She met her husband, Dana, some 29 years ago, and has loved him since. After a brief hiatus out West for a while, she returned to South MS in '03, and the two have been inseparable since. They enjoyed dancing, laughing and sharing life together, including dressing up for Halloween and other events. Karen was a loving, devoted wife, and they never went to bed without a hug, no matter what. She will be deeply missed, but fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Karen was preceded by her parents, Franklyn & Lou. Left to cherish her memories are her three children, daughters Corina (David) Ladnier of Biloxi, and Renea (Milton) Morales of Olathe, KS, and her son, George Sewell (Jennifer Page), also of Olathe; her two sisters, Sue (Mike) Gonnell of Tempe, AZ, and Barb (Ed) Ovesny of Norman, OK; her brother, Gary Railsback of FL; her grandchildren, Jerry Sewell (Carson Records), Dekota Sewell, Tommy Sewell, Desiree (Benjamin) Riggs, Stephanie Crone, Emma Sewell, and Britney Davidson, all of Olathe, along with Donald Lingo and Brandon Hipps of Gardner, KS; great-grands Cade and Chase Sewell, Raelynn Hipps, and a soon-to-be-born greatgrand-daughter, Scarlett, plus an un-numbered amount of neighbors, friends, and extended family from all over. Karen's request was to be cremated, and interred at the Biloxi National Cemetery, which her family is honoring. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Dronet family, and asks all to keep Mr. Dana and the entire family in your thoughts and prayers.
