Kaidyn Lavel Gillis, age 2, of Hattiesburg, MS., was eternally healed on August 9, 2025, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Kaidyn was born on May 7, 2023, to his loving momma, Bayleigh Gillis, in Jackson, MS. Despite the congenital defects Kaidyn was born with, that only made him EXTRA special and so easy to love. He lived a happy and perfect life under the care of his dedicated Mommy, NiNi, and PawPaw. Kaidyn didn't know any different than unconditional love that was poured into him. From the time his bright eyes opened until the time his "silly scream", which could be heard throughout the house, wore him down and he drifted to sleep, Kaidyn was a happy fella. Despite any mood, just one look into Kaidyn's big brown eyes could remedy any bad day or hard time his family may have been going through, as he brought life to those around him. He loved splash pads and being in the water, riding in his wagon, swinging in his swing in the front yard, listening to Ms. Rachel, and most of all tugging at his PawPaw's beard. Kaidyn adored his Mommy, his NiNi, his PawPaw, his big brother, and his Uncle Jamison, and it was obvious the dedication they poured into making sure he was taken care of and knew nothing but unconditional love. Day in and day out, Kaidyn was a happy boy. His life may have been short, but it was a life lived to the fullest, thanks to his family and his school. Kaidyn will be immensely missed by the lives he touched daily. Kaidyn is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Fred L. and Nancy L. Ward. Left to cherish his silly screams and bright eyes, his Mommy, Bayleigh Gillis; one brother, Korbyn Helton; his NiNi and PawPaw, Denny and Candice Hilton; two uncles, Thomas Gillis and Jamison Hilton; two aunts, Katelyn Hardy and Autumn Evans; three cousins Brayden Hardy, Graisyn Gillis, Paisley Gillis; as well as numerous extended and friends whom all loved him very much. The family would like to give a special THANK YOU to Pediatrust of Hattiesburg and their staff for their dedication to Kaidyn every day, as well as his bus attendants, PawPaw Bob, and Ms. Karen. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Gillis family and would ask that you remember Bayleigh and the rest of the family over the coming days ahead.
