Mr. Justin Levi Holmes, 27 from Pass Christian, tragically lost his life in a construction accident Saturday outside Starkville, in Oktibbeha County, MS. Justin was born July 8, 1989 in Gulfport, the 2nd of three children to Mike and Ginger Holmes. He grew up with his family in Pass Christian, and from a very early age, was introduced to heavy equipment through the family business, Holmes Construction Co. He pretty much learned to drive on a dozer, and over the years, became a highly skilled operator. He enjoyed the outdoors, and loved to hunt and fish. Justin was a member of the Class of 2007 at Pass Christian High School, and was accepted to Heavy Equipment Operators school before he was even old enough to attend. He then graduated early, with very high marks due to his skills. He is remembered as a very loving and caring person, one who would literally give you the shirt off his back. Justin had a hearty sense of humor, rarely if ever complained about anything, and always, always had a smile on his face. He loved life, and enjoyed get-togethers and bonfires with friends and family. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Justin is survived by his loving parents, Mike and Ginger Holmes; two siblings, his sister, Haley Holmes, and his brother, Bradley Holmes; and one nephew, Riley Irwin Holmes, all of Pass Christian; his grandmother, Ms. Shirley Holmes of Long Beach; his grandfather, O.J. Dedeaux of Perkinston; several aunts, uncles, extended family, and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mrs. Yvaughen Dedeaux, and his grandfather, Mr. Irwin Holmes. Services will be held at Divine Grace Baptist Church, where Justin was a member. The family will receive friends from 5pm until 8:30pm on Wednesday, December 14th, and from 9am until 10am on Thursday, Dec. 15th. Justin's funeral service will follow at 10am. After the service, he will be taken to the Dedeaux Cemetery in the Silver Run community of Stone county for interment. The family requests that the dress code for Justin's services be "construction casual", and in lieu of flowers, that donations be made in his honor to St. Jude Children's Hospital. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to assist the Holmes family in their time of need. Please keep Mike, Ginger, and all of the Holmes family in your prayers through this difficult time.
