Juan Rivera, Jr.

Juan Rivera, Jr., 55 of Saucier, passed away September 09, 2022 at Singing River Hospital in Gulfport. He was born on August 01, 1967 in Romeo, MI, the second of five children, and the only boy to Juan, Sr. and Willie Grace (Colinger) Rivera. Juan grew up in South MS for the most part and enjoyed fishing and tinkering with stuff. He would "mechanic" on his bicycles, mowers, or whatever needed a little work. Now that didn't always mean he fixed it, but he sure tried. He attended Harrison county schools until he decided to go work as a teenager. Juan started out in roofing before making his way into construction where he eventually became a master scaffold builder. He enjoyed that and spent his career across the Southeast, building scaffolding in at least seven states over that time. He is remembered as a very dependable, hard working person. Juan had a caring heart his entire life and did his best to protect his family. He had a great sense of humor and to be around him was to laugh. Juan always had a story to share and kept things fun. While he departs far too soon, he will be forever missed by all those who knew and loved him. Juan was preceded by his parents, father Juan Rivera, Sr. and his mother, Willie "Chris" Miller; and two of his sisters: Melissa and Tisha Rivera, along with his "Momma Fay", Fay Kiester. Left to cherish his memories are: his loving wife Genie; his children: daughters Amanda Rivera of Biloxi and Krystal (Brian) Clark of Long Beach, and sons Dwayne Rivera of Saucier, Jonathan Tanner of Biloxi, Gary (Jennifer) Clark of GA, and Jonathan Pierce, also of Saucier; his sisters, Juanita (Rusty) Smith and Krystal (Donald) Walker, both of Gulfport, and his "Poppa", Ed (Beth) Kiester of Saucier. He leaves a legacy of eight grandchildren, and a host of extended family, freinds and neighbors through the years. A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 17thth beginning at 10:30 AM at Finley Cemetery in Gulfport, with Bro. Jerome Guillotte officiating.
