Ms. Joyce Marie Sims

MS Joyce Marie Gregg Sims, 61, of Perkinston, MS passed away November 24, 2018 after a brief battle of liver cancer. The baby of 5, Joyce was born to Richard and Mary Gregg on July 15, 1957 in Pass Christian, MS. Joyce enjoyed gardening, helping people and traveling the United States but her passion was fishing. Let her put a pole in the water and she was a happy woman! Joyce was a proud Choctaw Indian whose name was 6 Star. Joyce will be remembered by family and friends as an awesome, loving mother to everyone. Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, late husband, Milton Sims, grandson, Tony and her brother, Wes. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her companion and 24/7 caregiver, Rex Beaver, children, Milton Sims, Essie Cuevas (Dale), Jennifer Galarza (Troy), Anna Mills (Johnny), Kelly Sims (Chris), and Cynthia Barton (Jayme) whom she raised as her own. A bundle of grandchildren, Angel, Austin, Jesse, Gabby, Craig, Charlie, Angelina, Clayton, Michael, Troy, Chyanna, Tyler, Little Chris, Shaina, Jeff and Kirsten. Great-Grands, Amelia, Amara and Xavier. Brothers, Pete and Andrew and sister Mary who raised her from a baby when their mother died. And Joyce's dog which she fondly called Puppy. Joyce's final wishes were to be cremated which the family is honoring. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank Justin from St. Joseph's Hospice for all his care.
