Our loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother, Joyce Parker, was called home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday evening, March 16 in Pelham, Alabama surrounded by her loved ones. She loved life and lived it to the fullest, living life her way. She loved butterflies and traveling, enjoying new adventures throughout the country. She taught her family how to make gumbo and dressing, according to her special recipe. She lived with Christ at the center of her life. She raised her children in church, teaching them to respect everyone with whom they met, including those they came to know with great love and respect. Her way was the way of grace. She was the epitome of a lady. She is survived by her loving and devoted children, Cheryl (Eddy) Vreeland of Pelham, AL and Lumberton, Mississippi, Janet Moran, Myra Wiggins, J.W. and Wanda Parker, and William G. Parker, all of McHenry, Mississippi, Ervin Parker of Rosehill, North Carolina; her sister-in-law, Carol Saucier of Biloxi, and Aunt Artie Mae Williams of State Line, AL. Joyce was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She considered each of them as her jewels, and she was very proud of each and every one of them. She will be sadly missed by all who's life she touched. Preceding her in death were her parents, Wath and Verna Saucier, her husband, Brisco Parker, Sr., her brothers, Earl and Paul Saucier, a sister, Myra, one niece, Cissy Saucier, a grandson, Jake Blanton, and her devoted and best friend, Stanley Walker, her angel on earth. Her entire family is grateful to Shelby Baptist Hospital ER, ICU, and MICU staff. All those who cared for her there were attentive and wonderful. A special thank you to Kindred Hospice of Mississippi and Alabama for their care and loving thoughts. Her caregivers Trisha Hays R.N., Michelle Morris R.N., and Ashley Piazza were so compassionate and kind. The love shown by her aides Teresa and Sharon was enduring. They cared for her and Teresa always sang, which brought a "smile" to her face. The family would like to thank Mr. Wayne Flurry of Trinity Funeral Services, and Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Brimingham, for the enduring care shown during this time. . Rev. Gene Daniels will officiate.
