Joshua Byron Fort, 45, passed away May 8th, 2024 at his home in McHenry, MS. He was born December 29, 1978 in Tampa, FL, the son of Joey Byron and Margaret Rafealla (Davis) Fort. He grew up in Gulfport and loved boating and fishing, skating, basketball, enduro racing, and so much more. Josh, as he was known to those who knew him best, attended Mercy Cross schools before going to work installing hardwood floors. He worked for Jumonville Floors and was quite an accomplished installer for several years. When he wasn't working, Josh could usually be found in a boat, and sometimes he would have a fishing rod in his hand. If he wasn't on the water, he enjoyed drawing, cooking, and helping his mom with the animals they rescued. He was witty and funny, loved to laugh, and just tried his best to enjoy life to the fullest. Josh was a Christian by faith, and a loving son and friend to many. He will be forever missed by all those who knew and loved him. He was preceded by his maternal grandparents, Emery and Doris Davis; his cousins: Justin Jumonville, Carol Enroth, Cindy Enroth, and Tammi Carson; his uncle Ronald Davis, his step-dad, Mark Ohman. Left to cherish his memories are: his two children, Nick and Ava Fort of Biloxi; his loving mother, Margaret Ohman of McHenry; his father Joey Fort of Florida, and his step-father, David Jumonville, also of McHenry; and his life-long friend, Nicole Naituin of Vancleave, along with many extended family and friends. Josh's final wishes were to be cremated, which his mother is honoring. A memorial service will be planned for a later date. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Fort family in their time of need and asks that you remember them in your thoughts and prayers through the days ahead.
