Joseph Bennie Strahan, affectionately known as Joe/Pappy, of Lumberton, MS, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2024, in Long Beach, MS. Born on October 31, 1938, in Lumberton, Joe was a proud graduate of Lumberton High School and went on to establish a fulfilling career that spanned woodworking, carpentry, and the petroleum industry. Joe was a man who cherished the simplicities of life and his family above all. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he devoted countless hours to creating treasured memories with them. An avid outdoorsman, Joe found solace in the tranquility of nature, often found crabbing, fishing, and camping, with a special affection for the Smoky Mountains. His warm spirit and legacy of kindness remain as enduring as the countless lives he touched. Joe's steadfast presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He is preceded by his wife of 61 years Pauline Strahan(Nana); his parents Lavon and Clara Strahan; his brother William Bill Strahan; his sister Catherine Meyers; grandbabies, Lil' Mac Dearman and Baby Girl Strahan; and one great-grandbaby Lawshe. Left to cherish his memories are his daughters Jenny Strahan from Hattiesburg, Vicky(Jeff) Geiger from Long Beach, Regina(John) Crawley from Oak Grove; his sister Janet Cleveland; his grandchildren Brittney(Kevin) Colton from Atlanta, Ben(Josie) Lawshe from Lumberton, Leslie Dearman from Long Beach, Brandon(Halie) Lawshe from Hattiesburg; along with multiple great-grandchildren.
