John Michael Sanderson

Mr. John Michael "Johnny" Sanderson, 62, made his final drive and arrived in heaven Wednesday evening, May 29th at his home surrounded by his family. He was a life-long resident of the Amackertown community in Poplarville, MS. Johnny was preceded by his parents, John E. & Mary E. (Cooper) Sanderson. Left to cherish his memories are: his best friend and loving wife of 31 years, Sandra; his three children: Joshua (Erica) Sanderson, Cissie (Ray) Rivero, and Joe (Lillion) Dunn; his brother Jeff (Tisha) Sanderson and sister Jeannie (Tommy) Mitchell; five grandchildren: Adalyn, Faith, Meadow, DJ, and Savanah, along with numerous friends and neighbors. Johnny drove 18 wheelers across country for 45 years, retiring at age 60. He loved socializing with others, never met a stranger and always had a friendly smile to offer. He enjoyed attending services at Bethel Baptist Church, spending time with his family, listening to Charles Stanley, and watching Gunsmoke. He will be fondly remembered, and sadly missed by his grateful admirers, his family and all who knew him. The family will receive friends for visitation Sunday evening, June 2nd from 6:00 until 9:00 PM at Bethel Baptist Church, and Monday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM. The funeral service will begin at 2:00, and interment will follow in the Baughman Cemetery with Bro. Billy Kent Smith officiating.
